Dell PowerEdge R720xd Server Chassis – 12x 3.5" HDD Bays, Rackmount (NVXR1 / 6HGV2) For Parts Or Build
About this item
This is a Dell PowerEdge R720xd server, but heads-up: it's basically a chassis with the 12-bay setup.
It's got the 3.5-inch hard drive bays, so you can load it up with some serious storage.
The model number is R720xd, and the part numbers on it are NVXR1, 6HGV2, and CXM16.
It's a rackmount form factor, made in the USA.
It doesn't come with any processors or RAM installed—it's a '0 GB' and '0 processors' situation—so you're getting the bare metal to build out yourself.
That makes it perfect if you've already got your own Intel Xeon chips and memory laying around and just need a solid foundation.
It's designed for the Intel platform.
It's listed as new old stock or in new condition, so the chassis itself is clean.
If you're a homelabber or need a base for a custom server project, this is a great starting point without paying for parts you don't need.
