Morgan Thermal Ceramics Kaowool 1/2" Ceramic Fiber Blanket - 6x6 Sheet, 2300F, 8lb Density
About this item
Alright, if you're into high-heat projects like building a forge, insulating a kiln, or repacking a motorcycle muffler, this Kaowool ceramic fiber blanket is what you need.
It's from Morgan Thermal Ceramics, a top brand for this stuff.
This piece is 1/2 inch thick and measures 6 inches by 6 inches, so it's a nice small sheet for projects or repairs.
It's rated for continuous use up to 2300°F, with a melt point of 3200°F.
It's made in the USA from kaolin, alumina, and silica.
It's not fiberglass, so it won't fall apart like that cheap stuff.
The density is 8 pounds per cubic foot, which is solid.
It's also got great acoustic properties—it's even used in military spec sound suppression.
Perfect for muffler packing, stove insulation, or wrapping pipes.
Just a heads-up: it comes with a Prop 65 warning, so wear a mask and gloves when handling it, and avoid breathing the dust.
